About the role | Mō te tūnga  

 

We are seeking expression of interest from people who have flexibility and availability to assist the team during periods of increased applications volumes. 

 

Application Lead, Land and Oceans Applications is responsible for ensuring the successful planning and delivery of application decisions from pre-lodgment to completion, within statutory timeframes and budget. Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Guiding application teams across various types of applications and legislation. 

  • Effectively delegating tasks and providing support to team members to set them up for success. 

  • Ensuring processes and templates are maintained. 

  • Providing or facilitating the provision of specialist consenting process expertise and advice to various key stakeholders. 

  • Support teams to achieve compliance with statutory timeframes and budget constraints. 

 

Under the legislation which we administer, the timing of application submissions cannot be consistently forecast and therefore we have fluctuating resourcing demandsWe are looking for people who have flexible availability to join our team on a casual employment arrangement and who have experience which enable them to hit the ground running. 

 

We will provide paid time for onboarding and training ahead of you being required to deliver work. 

 

 

About you | Mōhou ake 

 

We are looking forsomeone with a range of skills and experience if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you. 

    

  • Excellent knowledge of resource management sector, legislation and case law and its application 

  • Understanding of machinery of government processes and systems including cabinet guidelines, rules and conventions (desirable) 

  • Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and achieve results in tight deadlines 

  • Ability to manage conflicting workloads and statutory deadlines across multiple projects by demonstrating good risk-based prioritisation of workflow including adapting to emerging issues in a logical and rational manner. 

  • Experience providing planning advice and evidence relating to large applications to decision makers and the Environment Court 

  • Proven experience/or aptitude for operating regulatory systems, preferably in the management of natural resources 

  • Experience facilitating meetings, including conferencing and caucusing of experts (preferable) 

 

 

Salary range 

 

$80 - $120 per hour depending on skills and experience.
