About our group | Mō te roopu
The Corporate Services Group works in close partnership with the wider business to lead, support, and enable the EPA to achieve its strategic intentions and effectively and efficiently deliver its core functions.
There are four key functions within the Corporate Services Group. These are: Information Management and Technology, Finance and Business Services, People and Capability and Communications and customer.
Finance and Business Services
This function provides leadership and support across finance, procurement, planning and performance, risk and assurance, and facilities.

Finance delivers accurate, timely and meaningful financial information

Procurement manages internal procurement activity and supports contract management to deliver better public services for better public value.

Planning and Performance leads organisational performance, business and strategic planning and provides high quality internal and external accountability reporting.

Risk and Assurance operates processes to manage the EPA’s strategic and business risks and manages the out-sourced internal audit function.

Data and Reporting enables the business to maximise the use of data to drive organisational insights and improvements

Facilities provides high-quality office and facilities services and leads the EPA’s sustainability initiatives.
About the role | Mō te tūnga
This role is based in our Wellington office. While we're happy to consider work-from-home arrangements, this role is not designed for full-time remote working.
As our Team Leader Procurement, you’ll lead the strategy, systems, and people that power our procurement success. A typical day will be filled with meaningful collaboration, complex sourcing challenges, supplier engagement, and opportunities to lift procurement capability across the organisation. You’ll champion best practice, guide risk‑based decision making, and ensure our procurement activity delivers real public value. If you’re passionate about strategic procurement and developing high‑performing team, this is your chance to make a measurable impact.
About you | Mōhou ake
We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience – if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you.

Demonstrated leadership of a procurement function, preferably in public sector or regulated environments

Ability to apply Government Procurement Rules and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders

Experience uplifting capability, improving processes, and embedding procurement frameworks
-
Familiarity with NZGP competency frameworks, procurement lifecycle, commercial practice, and systemwide expectations

Diploma in NZ public Sector Procurement / Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent qualification.

Strong commercial, financial, and analytical acumen

Salary range
$122,997 - $184,495 per annum (midpoint $153,746).
This is the full salary range. Appointments will likely be made at or below the midpoint of this range, depending on skills and experience. An appointment at the midpoint assumes 100% competency in the role, with the full band covering a range of 80% - 120%.
